About Us…..

We are a small group of 4 like-minded people who are passionate about Neapoli and Crete. After many chats over a coffee and the occasional beer we decided to set up a website to provide information about the Town and the area and all that is has to offer. We are all volunteering our time to this website and its development…. Stewart and Christine sold up in the UK and moved here in May 2017 and moved into their new home in July 2017 and consider Neapoli their home. We live here permanently and the people of the Town have welcomed us with open arms and on the rare occasion that one of us might be out on our own everyone asks where the “other half” is. It is a wonderful experience to feel so much a part of the community and have people actually say “good morning” and ask how you are. Sadly, this is something that has somehow disappeared in the UK, even in the small market town we lived in. Christine is the main collaborator in collecting so much of the information about Neapoli and “throws it at me” to incorporate into the site’s content and has to double check all my typing for any errors. We are not experts in website design and are doing our level best to help promote Neapoli and hopefully provide you with information that will be of value to everyone that comes to this beautiful friendly town. Nikos Goulidakis has lived here all his life and runs the family business of The Oasis Cafe in the Town square. He is a “font” of knowledge about what is currently going on in the town and its past. He laments the decline he has seen over the many years he has lived here and oftens talks about how the town was bustling in the past and that every street had something to offer everyone. He wants to see Neapoli regain something of the magic it once held and see people come here to enjoy the town and stay a while longer. He loves Moto Cross and like Stewart has a keen interest in Moto GP and motorcycling in general… Eleni Sou is our main Translator for the Greek language and without her help and input the site would be very different. She is still very much in love with the town and Crete and visits as often as she can as she now lives and works in Attica.
